WRD Attorney Jesse Shapiro Receives Order of Service from NC Advocates for Justice

Recognition of Talent Contributions to Helping Nonpartisan Group Protect Individual Rights through Community, Education and Advocacy

SANFORD & APEX, N.C. — Wilson, Reives & Doran, a full-service law firm specializing in personal injury, workers’ compensation and criminal defense, is pleased to announce that attorney Jesse Shapiro has received the Order of Service from the NC Advocates for Justice (NCAJ).

This recognition is for Shapiro’s contributions in time and talent to the nonpartisan group dedicated to protecting individual rights through community, education and advocacy.

“Jesse and his advocacy represent our belief that everyone matters and deserves to be treated with respect while receiving personal attention and top-quality legal representation,” said William T. Wilson, Jr., Co-founder.

Since 1977, the attorneys at Wilson, Reives & Doran have been actively involved in legal organizations like the NCAJ as well as in the communities they serve in Lee and Wake Counties.

Shapiro participates in the NCAJ through his service to the Workers’ Compensation Executive Committee and has spoken at various continuing legal education (CLE) programs.

The Order of Service is evaluated annually, and the recipients are approved by the NCAJ President. It was established to recognize members who have given generously of their time and talent to NCAJ by serving in a minimum of two areas. These can include amicus brief writing, writing manuscripts and speaking at CLE seminars, actively serving on committees, writing articles for trial briefs, chairing educational programs, writing for various publication projects of NCAJ, and chairing sections or divisions.

As a Board-Certified Workers’ Compensation Specialist, Shapiro leads the workers’ compensation division at Wilson, Reives & Doran. He and his team represent and protect the rights of injured workers in Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Durham, Fayetteville, Sanford, Southern Pines, Greensboro, and surrounding towns and counties.

Shapiro was previously named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine in 2011-2013 and is a member of the NC Bar Association. He earned his JD from Campbell University in 1999.
